Clean energy is the buzz word across the AEC industry. Consumers, builders, architects and perpetually everyone involved in the building design and construction process have a keen interest in ensuring energy efficiency, and implementing clean energy supply options.
While it is extremely important for every town, state and country to take a step towards this direction, there are several sections, sectors and companies that are actively participating in building a green environment. This vision of a green and sustainable environment will be realized by combining the capabilities of cloud computing, energy modeling, analytics and social technologies.
India has around 400 million residents, which sums up to nearly 100 million more than the US population. India has the ability and potential to produce enough energy for everyone. However at present, things are not going on in the right direction, the available resources need to be explored and used well to fulfill the energy requirements.
Using cloud for renewable Energy Generation, to enable improved energy efficiency and to reduce overall green gas emissions
Greener environment can be achieved via generation of power using renewable resources of energy; however, the process of energy generation optimization generates huge volumes of data. This data can be managed by leveraging the capabilities of cloud computing. Additionally, cloud computing also augments the supercomputing capabilities to allow greater flexibility and reduced image analysis times.
The idea of combining cloud, analytics and mobile technology here is that, while analytics helps pull out a vast amount of useful bigdata, which aids energy efficiency, cloud computing helps effectively manage this data. Based on this data engineers detect the reasons of energy loss and the equipments that are major defaulters. Using mobile technology this information is provided to the ground staff, and further energy loss issues and problems are mitigated. As a result, loss of energy is curbed and an energy efficient environment is achieved.
Mobile and social technology can also be used to connect with customers via cloud. This way, a company can stay connected and keep the customers updated about their power usage. It also helps determine the demand for energy and further improve energy distribution.
Given the present scenario, there is a dire need to device and implement innovative approaches and meet the rising energy requirements from companies and communities. Cloud technology is increasingly being used to usher in more efficiency, reliability and innovation in the way utilities are run.
Computing power (energy modeling and advanced simulations) play an important role in ensuring high performance at reduced costs, and hence was always of core importance. However, today cloud computing has joined computing power, to become an area of focus, as it helps manage energy efficiently. Additionally, techniques used for measuring energy requirements in cloud systems have also gained prominence.
